Place a new song in our mouths, O Lord,
and plant a prayer of gratitude within our hearts,
O Beneficent One.
Help us to receive your blessings
with the gratitude of thirsty ground
beneath cool spring rain,
caressed by the warming breezes of mercy.
Blessed Jesus,
who rolled your eyes at your disciples yet remained ever-patient,
help us not return unkindness for unkindness,
but set us upon the higher ground of patience and forbearance,
we humbly pray.
Forgive us our weaknesses, Holy One,
and lead us into paths of mutual love and support
as we grow in discipleship and in grace.
Spirit of the Living God,
we lift our hearts to you:
fill us with peace and gentleness
for the building up of your kingdom.
Cast wide the net of your blessing,
and encompass within your embrace
those for whom we pray.
Amen.
