Prayer, day 2832

I will praise You, O God, with my first thought
as morning joy bids me to rise.
The stars sing out your praises;
their song resonates
even beyond the blue veil of day.
Your love is the foundation of the earth;
all creation rests within your embrace, O Steadfast One.

Our longing hearts turn to You:
Your Word is a lamp for our feet,
showing us the way home,
the way of peace and justice.

We thirst for your wisdom, O Redeemer:
pour out your Spirit within us,
heal and refresh us by your grace.

Let us answer your harvest call, Lord Christ,
and like workers at the harvest
ear your abundant peace into the hungry world.

May the mantle of your goodness envelop us,
O Holy One,
and all those for whom we pray.

Amen.

Prayer, day 2816

O Love Above All Loves,
we are borne aloft by your abiding love:
may we sing out your worship all the day long.

May our prayers and praises rise to You,
O Almighty Creator,
who sustains us in tenderness and mercy.

God of Joy,
we celebrate the thrum and pulse of the Earth beneath our feet,
the insistent reminder of your ongoing creation,
and of your embracing us with your abundant love.

Bring us to a deeper knowledge and obedience
of your call to us to care for creation
and care for each other.

Send us forth into the world,
scattered like good seed on fertile, faithful ground,
that we may produce an abundant harvest
of joy, justice, and peace.

Gather us to your bosom, O God,
and sow your blessing within our hearts.
Bless and keep all who seek You,
we humbly pray.

Amen.

Prayer 1737: the stars sing God's praise

I will praise You, O God, with my first thought
as morning joy bids me to rise.
The stars sing out your praises;
their song resonates
even beyond the blue veil of day.
Your love is the foundation of the earth;
all creation rests within your embrace, O Steadfast One.

Amen.

Prayer, day 1400

The beauty of forests in a Missouri autumn.

Each day is a precious gift, O God: Let our praise rise to You, as hope lifts the hearts of your people.

Here in Your embrace we have rested, O Loving One.
Now we go out to the harvest fields we are blessed to tend, knit together in holy love.
Let the roots of hope grow deep.
Let compassion overflow into the spaces where hearts are hollow.
Let us be drawn into the embrace of the One who knows all our needs.
Let those who are troubled be restored and renewed, filled with the strength of God's grace.

Here we offer our prayers to You, O Holy and Merciful One.

Amen.
