Prayer 2815- The Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Most Merciful God,
You call us into your feast:
may we enter into your kingdom rejoicing.

May the food we share and the cup you offer,
O Blessed Savior,
nourish us in love and compassion.

May we take delight in each other,
led by the Holy Spirit,
and seek to embody your message of love and healing.

May we never make idols
for ourselves,
or of ourselves,
and instead remember that love--
love for You O God,
and love for each other--
is the sustenance for life in your kingdom,
the living water that satisfies the soul.

Your table of fellowship is broad:
even in the presence of enemies we know you care for us,
and call all to reconciliation.

Lord, let us be your healing hands in the world today,
as we ask your blessing upon those we now name.

Amen.
