Holy God, Light Eternal,
You drive away the darkness that overhangs us
and gather us within your radiant love:
we praise You and bless You, Amen.
Make us a holy fellowship, Lord Christ,
one that seeks out the lost and the hurting
and welcomes all into the circle of light and life,
following your example.
Make us bearers of your light and mercy,
and joyful witnesses of the power of resurrection,
O Creator and Sustainer.
Holy One, we place before you
all those whose peace and well-being has been shattered
by violence and persecution.
Keep watch with those
who worry or weep or mourn, Holy Lord,
and send your angels to minister to those for whom we pray.
Amen.
