Prayer 107

We gather together to ask your blessing, O Mighty One
 upon the works of our hands and our hearts this day.

Consecrate and hallow your people, O God,
that we will pursue justice and wisdom
in all we do to each other.
Knit us together in unity and love for your Love's sake.
Let us persist only in those works
which promote harmony and forbearance
as we seek to love each other
according to your commandment.

Spread the wings of your protection over these
for whom we pray this day.

Amen.  

Prayer, day 106

O God, your compassion is as bright as the sun at noonday, and your care for us is as vast as the night sky.

We put all our trust in You, O Holy One, because you are the source of all our strength and our protector in times of trouble.

Help us to walk the pilgrim way of humility, love, and obedience to your will, help us to happily attend to your call.

We thank you for the generous bounty of your creation; help us to care for it and protect it as you protect us.

We ask the protection of your right hand over these loved ones for whom we pray.

Amen.

Prayer 105

Bathe your people in light and truth, O Holy One,
that they may be clad in the armor of Love
to face the events of this day.

May we walk in mercy and gentleness
upon the path of kindness
for all of our fellow creatures.
May we be guided by your Love
where we might stumble,
and may we make your Word a lantern for our feet.

Watch over and bless, comfort, and strengthen,
we pray,
these your children in their needs and concerns.

Amen.   

Prayer 104

O Lord, you are our very-present help in times of trouble. We live in anxious times and uncertainty: let us rest our heads upon your breast as we seek respite. Help us to see your mighty works and saving deeds in the world today, for it is only our own turmoil that obscures them. Having rested in You, let us rise to persevere and to conquer with your banner of Love always before us. Having conquered our fears, let us be strengthened to offer comfort to those we meet who are suffering or frightened. We think especially today of these, your children.

Amen.   

Prayer 103- adapted from a prayer at Compline

Blessings and honor and praise are yours, O Holy One, whose mercy is everlasting. You tend the sick and minister to them as a mother soothes her infant's brow. You give rest to the weary, who have watched through the night in hope of the dawn. You bless the dying, welcoming them into your arms with promise of glory. You soothe the suffering ones with the cool water of your mercy. You give comfort to the afflicted, consoling them with the balm of your Spirit in their distress. You shield the joyous, laughing with them as they exult in their blessings. For your Love's sake, let your Spirit hover over those for whom we pray this day.

Amen.
  

Prayer 102

O God, you are the God of justice and forbearance,
and we thank you for your manifold blessings.

Help us to be ever-vigilant
where injustice and manipulation attempt to flourish,
and root them out as noxious weeds.
Open our eyes
to the plight of the vulnerable in our midst
and then take action to guard and protect them.
Watch over the judges in our lands
and help them to interpret the law
with equity and principle.

And strengthen, guard, and comfort, we pray, these your children.
