we sit in the beauty of this new day,
listening to the wakening earth sing
and sigh in eager gratitude of your gifts,
and we bow our heads in awe.
The living Earth breathes out a song
and sweeps us up into the melody
calling us to join the tune:
with each breath may we give thanks
and savor the sweet fragrance of the autumn air.
May our eyes delight in all your works,
O Living Savior,
and may our hearts overflow with hope and tenderness
as we seek your guidance in all we do
that we may glorify your Name
among all people.
Breathe into us a Spirit of charity and mercy,
O God of the Ages,
and press the kiss of your blessing
upon all those fo whom we pray.
