Prayer 4019

Almighty God, Source of All Blessing,
we turn to you in faith and trust,
inviting your Spirit into our hearts.

May we make our way steadfast and blameless
in walking in your holy Law, O God.
that we may radiate your compassion
into the world around us.

Place the balm of your blessing over all creation,
O Steadfast One,
over all in need of peace or comfort,
over those who seek you
with a wordless, unformed longing
as we pray.

Amen.

Prayer 3162

Holy One,
we lift our heart before You
like empty basins
to be filled with wisdom and mercy.

We give you thanks, O Creator,
for sun-dappled mornings:
may our prayers arise to you
like the morning mist rises from the hills.

We offer our repentance
for the wrongs we have done others, O Savior,
for our carelessness before You and our neighbors,
for blindly seeking our own way
rather than keeping our feet and hearts
within your path of wisdom and grace.

Spirit of Truth,
grant us the will to turn again toward love
that reveals itself in compassion, generosity, and humility,
in placing ourselves at the service of others
as Christ exemplifies.

Bless the hands and hearts of healers, protectors, and teachers,
of those who sacrifice for our own flourishing,
that we may do likewise.
Blessed Trinity, Eternal One,
give your angels charge over those in need, anxiety, or grief,
and pour out the balm of your mercy
over those for whom we pray.

Amen.

Prayer, day 2419

As the morning sun blesses us with light,
we rise to ring out praises to our God:
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Lead us into the path of life,
O Most Holy Spirit,
for we need your tender care and guidance.
Settle us into the crook of your arm, Almighty One,
for we are prone to wander and worry.
You are our strength and our stronghold:
send us forth, renewed and fired with joy,
to do your work in the world, O God.
Give us courage in the face of adversity,
and hope in the face of struggles:
Lord Jesus, may we walk with you this day.

We lift our prayers and praises before You, O Lord:
spread your sheltering wings over those for whom we pray.

Prayer, day 2222- A Prayer for Rising

O God, early in the morning we open up our hearts to You;
renew our questing hearts every morning in your love, we pray.
In stillness, in peace, thankfulness wells up
like a spring of clear water is absorbed into thirsty ground.

Let your holy wisdom take root within us, Lord Christ:
let us prepare the ground of our hearts to welcome your word.
Nourished by your grace, restored by your mercy,
lead us into reconciliation with each other.

We pray that all have love enough,
and bread enough,
that all may dwell in peace and plenty in your care,
O Most High.
Forgive us for the hearts we've broken rather than set free,
and the walls we've built up to shut ourselves in.

Look upon us with tenderness, we pray,
and help us cast away our vanity and pride.
Lord Christ, let your prayer of love be prayed within us
and draw us into heaven's banquet of fellowship.
Let your Spirit of healing come down
and give rest to those we remember before You.

 Amen.

Prayer, day 2098: the Stars Sing Out God's Praise

I will praise You, O God,
with my first thought
as morning joy bids me to rise.
The stars sing out your praises;
their song resonates
even beyond the blue veil of day.

Your love is the foundation of the earth;
all creation rests within your embrace, O Steadfast One.

Our longing hearts turn to You:
Your Word is a lamp for our feet,
showing us the way home,
the way of peace and justice.

We thirst for your wisdom, O Redeemer:
pour out your Spirit within us,
heal and refresh us by your grace.

Let us answer your harvest call, Lord Christ,
and like workers at the harvest
bear your abundant peace into the hungry world.

May the mantle of your goodness envelop us, O Holy One,
and all those for whom we pray.

Amen.

Prayer 1929: Trusting in God's Love

Holy God, Our Shield and Our Redeemer,
you have brought us in safety to this new day,
refreshed and renewed by the cool springs of rest,
shielded by the awning of your love and mercy.

May we guide each step today
by your reconciling, healing love, Blessed Savior,
that the world will know your healing presence
through our living witness--
through our care of each other
and of this good earth upon which we depend.

Spirit of the Living God,
lead us in paths of integrity and holiness,
growing in wisdom, faithfulness, and hope,
that our hearts may be filled with your compassion
and we proclaim our gratitude for your grace.

Lord Jesus, you share our fears and our sorrows,
our hopes and our joys:
may we abide within your loving embrace,
knowing that you walk alongside us with every step we take.
Have mercy on all who are in turmoil or danger, O God,
and give your angels charge over all who weep or worry,
especially those whose needs we lift before You.

Amen.
