We wait upon You, O God, and bid you come into our hearts this day.
Send, we pray, the Light of Love into the depth of winter, to illumine the way we should go, in faithfulness and charity. Help us to prepare a home for the Christ-child within us, and leave behind our selfish ways. Let us embrace each other to build up God's kingdom, and work for justice and peace for all who find no place to rest.
Draw close to You those who wait or watch or weep or ache, especially those we now name.
Amen.
