Merciful God, shine the light of your countenance upon us,
and grant your peace to those who call upon You.
Be our strong rock;
place us upon the promontory of your wisdom,
and enable us to see your paths
of honor, compassion and integrity,
that we may follow in the Way of Jesus always.
Give us the initiative and courage
to act where we see cruelty or contempt,
io stand for the oppressed and the outcast,
to welcome the refugee with tenderness.
By the power of the Holy Spirit,
make us zealous for the cause of love and community,
and grant your blessing upon these beloveds.
Amen.
