O God, Our Living Water,
pour your wisdom over us
to bear us up like a tide
as we rise to praise You this day.
The Earth whirls and spins
on its journey through night,
yet we know we are secure
under the wing of your mercy, Lord Christ.
You hold the suffering and anxious
within the hollow of your heart, O Savior,
and bid peace and comfort to all who seek You.
Mother, You bend to hear
the sighs and dreams of your children:
You envelop us in tenderness as a Father,
and we are at peace.
We know Your gentle hand at our backs:
guide us and bless us this day
that we may serve You and each other with joy.
As a watchman longs for the morning,
so our spirits long for You, O Holy One:
hear our humble prayers.
