| Grant us the courage to step out on the troubled waters. |
You have generously given us life and breath:
may we use it to serve the cause of equity and truth.
Let us seek to love our neighbors as ourselves,
and fight alongside them against hatred,
for so we show our love for You,
O Merciful One.
Help us put on the armor of light
and cast off the works of darkness
as true disciples of your Word.
Let us renounce accomodation of evil,
confessing our feeding it through silence
or excusing it for our own comfort.
Let us not be so blinded by our own hurts or fears
that we lose compassion and empathy for others.
Lord of All Hope, create in us clean hearts,
and grant grace and peace to all for whom we pray.
Amen.
