O God, we lay our burdens before you. In their place let us take up the cause of sacrifice: to do your will, to walk in your ways, to obey your commandments. In their place let us take up the cause of love: to love You, to love each other as our neighbors and friends. In their place, let us take up the cause of justice: for the poor, the weak, the refugee, the oppressed. In their place, let us take up the cause of peace: among families, among communities, among nations. And we place before you these loved ones who are anxious, troubled, or in pain, and ask that you give your angels charge over them.
