We rise to give thanks and praise to our God, who is our helper and our defense in times of joy and in times of trouble. Accept our prayers of penitence, O Lord, and lead us into paths of righteousness and gentleness. Keep us upon the high rock of your mercy, Lord Christ, as flood waters swirl about us, and cover us with your right hand. Teach us to keep your statutes and uphold your kingdom as disciples in word and deed, and create in us clean hearts. Spread the mantle of your healing power over those who cry out to You, O Merciful One.
