Prayer 625- inspired by the lunar eclipse

(inspired by the lunar eclipse)
The sun, moon, and stars declare your wonders, O God, and sing out your faithfulness throughout the ages. As the shade of night is lifting, let us raise our eyes to the heavens, and give thanks for all you have given us.

The Lord is our light and our guide through the trackless hours of the night. No shadows can separate us from the love and light of God, for shadows are only visible where there is light. Make the light of your countenance to shine upon us, O God of Glory, that we may see your pathways clearly.

Draw back the veil that divides us from each other, O God; for the divisions among us are mere products of our own waywardness. Make us one people whose strength is in our differences, just as night is a part of the day. Bring us into the dawn of hope, and shine down your blessings upon your people who call out to you.

Amen.
