The
light of God shines forth from the heavens, illuminating our path toward
the Prince of Peace.
O God, we pray you to give us peace in our time;
that the only armor we put on would be
the armor of light. May we study war no more, but build justice and
freedom for all children, women, and men. Lead us to defend the weak and
the helpless, the poor and the homeless, and work to bring their
suffering to an end. May we heed the needs of the sick, suffering, or
anxious and plant them within our hearts and minds, to work for their
good.
We bring before You these intercessions that You may send your
comfort upon those for whom we pray.
Amen.
