Be a
light unto us, O Son of God, as night gives way to dawn.
Guide us to a
more perfect understanding of a more excellent way of life, that we may
give light to others. Give us grace to
do your will in all that we undertake, O Lord; prepare our minds as a
fertile field for your teachings. Help us look forward in anticipation
to this day and to your coming into our hearts.
Hear the prayers of your
people, O God, as we bring before You the needs and thanksgivings of
our loved ones, especially those we now name.
Amen.
