Prayer 1350: Twentieth Sunday After Pentecost

Muir Woods Canopy, Marin County, California.

Most Holy God, we rise to prepare to worship before your altars, offering to You all that we are and that we have. We remember the example of your servant Francis, who reminded us of our rootedness in all creation.

Give us the faith of a mustard seed, that our roots may grow deep in solidaity with all beings, and with this fragile earth. Let us be mindful of all your gifts and blessings, including earth, wind, water, and sky. Let us work in faith to renew the earth and our societies upon it, to be rooted in values of love, compassion, and justice.

Led into truth by your Son, Jesus Christ, we ask your blessing and guidance this day, O Holy One, empowered by the Spirit. Place the hand of your blessing, O Lover of Souls, upon all whose needs we lay before You.

Amen.
