Prayer 1534: Embodying compassion

We lift up our eyes to see a rose window...

To You, O Most High, we lift our hearts:
may our thoughts and prayers rise to You
as incense and a holy offering.
We know too well our sinfulness,
and acknowledge our manifold faults and sins:
have mercy, O God and Creator, upon us.
We know your kindness and love are everlasting:
we rest within the divine embrace.
May we embody and reflect your compassion, Lord Christ,
and walk gently upon the earth and with each other.
May we be knit together by the Spirit of Truth and Holiness.
Holy One, whose love never sleeps,
hear the prayers of all people,
and place your protecting hand over those we now name.
