The Return of the Prodigal Son, by Rembrandt van Rijn |
Almighty God, we lift our hearts to You and come into your courts, to worship You with all that we are and all that we hope to be.
We humbly confess before You all the hurts we have inflicted and all the hurts done in our name and in our apathy: forgive us, we pray. Purify us, strengthen and renew us to serve You and love each other in joy and gratitude, that our lives may shine forth your glory.
Have mercy on those who suffer in body, mind, or spirit, Lord Christ, we pray, and have mercy on us as we seek to serve You. Blessed One, be with each beloved we now name before You, that they may know the peace of God who surrounds them in love.
Amen.
