Prayer 877- Prayer for Mother Emanuel Church and her Martyrs

The mourning bell at Christ Church Cathedral in St. Louis (Episcopal Diocese of Missouri) tolled for ten minutes yesterday as we prayed for those attacked and murdered at Emanuel AME church in Charleston, SC, on June 18.

Beneficent and Merciful One, we come before You in silence, in need of your love that pours over our hearts.

May the love of God shine forth from our faces, and may our steps be filled with compassion.
May the peace of God emanate from each act we take, and may all we do build the kingdom of heaven on Earth.
May the wisdom of God unite us for the common good, and make manifest the image of God saturating all of creation.

May we join hands and hearts in worshiping our Creator, the Sustainer and Redeemer of the Universe.
May we lift our hearts in prayer together as we pray for the victims of violence, hatred, and oppression.

Send out your holy angels, O God, to anoint those who call upon You.

Amen.
