O God, You are our Defender and our Strength:
let our prayers ascend to You like incense.
Happy are we
who feel the light of God's countenance upon us!
We will praise You, O Lord Most High,
and enter into your sanctuary with thanksgiving.
Lift up our heads to see your grace
even in anxiety and sadness.
Send the warm wind of your mercy and love at our backs,
and propel us past the shoals of pain and fear.
Grant your peace and healing,
abundant beyond our understanding,
to all those for whom we pray, O Merciful One.
