Prayer 1044

A heart eroded into the rocks at Point Lobos, California.

Most Merciful God, we turn our faces to the rising sun, and rise to give thanks for your manifold blessings. Open our minds to discern the right pathways for our steps today, Lord Christ, that we walk gently upon the earth.

Let us deal gently and tenderly with one another, rejoicing in holy fellowship and treasuring our common bonds as your children.

Lord, give us the courage to love, to seek wisdom and justice rather than fear and envy. Take away our hearts of stone, we pray, and give us hearts filled with praise and compassion for all living things.

Bend near to those who suffer in body, mind, or spirit, O Spirit of Truth and Comfort, especially those we now name.

Amen.
