Almighty God, we thank You for carrying us through the depths of the night to greet this new day.
We see the fading stars, and remember that they remain even when veiled by the light of dawn: so, too, You are with us always. God's blessings and mercies are without number: we give You thanks for your abundant grace and compassion, O Holy One.
Inspire us, Lord Christ, to empty ourselves of all our pride and resentment, and embrace the ways of justice and empathy. Draw us under the shade of your wing and the protection of your mighty arm, O God: grant your peace upon those we name.
Amen.
