Prayer 2845: Morning Glory

God of Glory,
let us center our hearts in You.

The clouds glide overhead
as the morning sun winks on
and calls us from sleep to praise,
from rest to seeking your will, O Holy One.

The wind rings through the barren trees
like bells in the steeple
here under the cathedral of sky,
and we open our hearts to your presence
and marvel at the intricate work of your hands,
O God of All Creation.

Refresh and replenish our spirits, Lord Jesus,
and heal the sorrows that we carry.
Strengthen us as we turn our hands
to your work of reconciliation and justice.

Gather the mourning under the awning of your mercy,
O God Our Strength,
and place your hand of blessing
upon all for whom we pray.

Amen.
