O God Our Shepherd,
we praise you with open hearts,
our arms spread wide to receive your light.
May we treasure the lives of others
as much as our own,
cherishing our mutual heritage as your children,
forswearing exploitation and greed
that would cause the suffering of another.
Against the forces of death
and abuse of the powerless
may we ever stand united as your disciples,
seeking justice and integrity
in the name of the love You so freely give, O Most High.
Blessed Jesus,
may we walk in the paths of righteousness and mercy
you laid out before us:
the way of everlasting life, honor, and charity
that alone offers healing in a hurting world.
Merciful God, in your tender compassion
gather us within your generous heart
and strengthen us by your Spirit of Wisdom and Hope
as we pray.
