Almighty One
we ask your peace to rest upon us
as we lift our hearts and hopes to You.
Give us the wisdom, O God,
to choose unity and kinship
over the forces of division,
to choose empathy and compassion
over the forces of envy and greed,
to choose knowledge and awe at all your varied creation
over the forces of ignorance and falsehood.
Gather within your welcoming embrace, Lord, all those who seek You
and strengthen all who serve You.
Pour out the balm of your Spirit, O Holy One,
on all whose needs we now name.
