Almighty One,
we rise to praise You,
taking a moment of silence
to listen to your small still voice in our hearts.
Forgive us our cruelties and heedlessness,
we humbly pray, Merciful Lord:
lead us to an honest accounting of our sins
that we may repent and be reconciled
in newness of life.
Draw us, by your gentle wisdom,
to deeper wonder of all your blessings, O Savior:
your way is the way of abundance and compassion.
Make us more loving and generous in all our ways:
our souls' fulfillment rests within the circle of communion
with God and all creation.
Give us the courage to open our hearts freely
without fear or defensiveness,
loving each other in spirit and truth
as you love us, Lord Christ.
Give rest to the weary or suffering, O Light of the World,
for you are our beginning and our end,
our good above all other,
our Advocate and Brother.
By the power of the Holy Spirit,
bless us and keep us in purity of intention,
and place the awning of your mercy over all those for whom we now pray.
