we laud and magnify your Holy Name,
lifting our hearts to you in hope.
Strengthen us to step forth in faith today,
testifying to your love in our lives.
May we seek to root ourselves deeply
in the rich soil of your wisdom, Beloved Jesus,
to withstand the storms that may bend us.
Gentle our words and actions,
that we may be faithful and loving friends,
steadfast and true companions.
In the company of saints,
we pray for our beloveds who have died
in the sure hope of resurrection.
Dry the tears of all who mourn, O God,
and give your angels charge of all who weep.
Give peace and comfort to those who are anxious
or suffer in body, mind, or spirit, we humbly pray, O Lord.
Amen.
