O Merciful God, we praise and honor your holy Name.
We lift up our hearts to You as empty vessels, to be filled with courage, discernment, and compassion. You are with us in our pain and suffering, Lord, and call us back from sin again and again. Help us to understand that the root of all wisdom is love and empathy, O Loving One. Help us to understand that the root of all compassion is loving others as ourselves. Help us to be disciples of Jesus, and walk in his holy path of being-for-others. Envelop within the warm embrace of your presence, O God, those for whom we pray this day
