Prayer 984

As the whirlwind passes and the earthquake shakes all of us, we listen for your voice, O God. We hear it in the sounds of joy as loved ones are reunited. We hear it in the sounds of hope and comfort from friends and strangers who reach out their hands to us. We hear it in the sounds of doctors and nurses who seek to heal us. We hear it in the midst of grief for those taken from us. We hear it as You welcome loved ones to your embrace. We hear You in the sanctuary of our hearts. For You are our Rock and Redeemer in joys and sorrows, in anxiety and celebration, in sickness and in health, in death as well as in life. Guide, guard, and govern us, and those we pray for this day, especially those we now name.
