Prayer 983- for the victims of Umpqua Community College
Loving, Almighty God, you have been our dwelling place since we were born; it is in you that we are meant to live and to love each other as you always love us.
You are our strength and our redeemer, and we put our trust in you.
Forgive us our sins, especially the times we have given up in the face of struggle rather than do what is right. Help us to ask for courage and strength to work for the common good, and the will to carry out that fight in the name of love and peace.
Bless those who weep, O God, and soothe the suffering, Lord Christ; give your angels charge over those in pain. Watch over, strengthen, and comfort, we pray, these, your beloved children for whom we pray.
Amen.
